Typical treatment times are around 30 minutes. We apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area to minimize discomfort and this can take up to 45 minutes prior to the treatment to be fully effective. You can enjoy complimentary tea and coffee while you wait for the anesthetic to activate. Alternatively, you can treat yourself to one of our pamper packages including:

• A facial or chemical peel, if you are awaiting anesthetic activation for a body treatment
• Flexure body firming treatment while awaiting facial anesthetic to activate.
• Laser or RF treatments on any body part other than that awaiting anesthesia.

The numbing agent should take away most of the discomfort. Patients report that they can feel the needling but are not in actual pain. Your provider will continuously monitor you as everyone’s pain threshold is different. You are free to halt the treatment at any time if you wish to do so.

Effects can usually be seen straight away, but as with any treatment one session is not enough for lasting results. We recommend you take advantage of our 3 and 5-session packages to give added value for money and ensure continuous glowing, rejuvenated and firm skin.

One of the beauties of micro-needling is the minimal downtime. You should avoid strenuous exercise and sun exposure for the 48 hours following treatment. You can go about your regular activities wearing a good SPF and show off your skin straight away!

You can expect a smoother more radiant complexion within a few days of treatment and a gradual consistent improvement over several weeks and several treatments. The optimal outcome is to remove scarring and/or delay the aging process. It is completely normal to experience redness, minor swelling and pinpoint bleeding post-treatment. This usually resolves quickly and well within the 3 days following treatment. Occasionally depending on the sensitivity of your skin the treatment area can exhibit minor bumps where the needles penetrated. Should this occur it typically resolves independently within 3 days.

In some, rare, instances, micro-crusting can occur which can be readily dealt with at the clinic.

We recommend you avoid micro-needling if any of the below apply to you:

• Pregnant
• Breastfeeding
• Active lesions
• Active acne
• Open wounds of any kind in or around the intended micro-needling area
• Any active infections
• A pacemaker or other implanted electrical device
• Patients who have had gold tread rejuvenation treatments
• Patients with keloid formation propensity
